My review : his tripod is sturdy for it's size and weight. When the 4 section legs are fully extended and locked, there is no wobble when I shake them, and almost no bend when pushing down on the tripod. The legs lock with metal threaded twist locks that can be tightened/loosened with a single turn of the wrist, and are easy to grip with and without gloves. The feet are rubber, and two of the legs have a foam jacket that helps grip and prevents my hands from freezing. Even the carbon fiber gets much less cold than metal. I wish the third leg (monopod) had foam.

At the top of the legs are push/pull locks that allow the legs to be locked at roughly a 30 and 60 degree angles, as well as they can be rotated 170 degrees for upside positioning or to be inverted for a compact storage height of 17". The whole tripod takes about 22 seconds to open and 16s to close.

The center column is also carbon fiber and adjusted with a twist lock. At the bottom of it is a spring hook that allows for hanging weight. This part can unscrew and the center column can be pulled out to create 31-64" monopod by combining it with the detachable leg, or the ball head can be unscrewed from the column to attach to a leg to create a more compact 18-51" monopod. The screws on the leg, column, and ballhead are 3/8".

The 35mm ball head is solid metal and allows the camera to point in any direction including straight up / down. There is a pan knob that allows for smooth panning, as well as shows the angle in degrees, but sadly it's only visible from one side. The other 2 knobs are for locking or adjusting the tension on the ball. I found the tension strong enough for a nikon D7000 and 70-200mm 2.8 (about 5lb), or canon 5D+70-200mm. A bigger lens combo should sit fine on the top if balanced, but might lose position if tilted.

The quick release plate is metal with rubber grip that doesnt slip on the camera. It's nice and small measuring 50x40x10mm. Another great feature is it will not come out of the ball head unless fully loosened so there's no worry if it comes slightly loose.

Included with the tripod is a decent quality nylon zipper bag, padded ballhead cover, and strong nylon+velcro belt holster for carrying the tripod on your belt. Overall this is a good tripod with a couple minor flaws. The only situations it didnt perform optimally where when shooting 200-300mm telephoto, it was difficult to frame the shot compared to using a pan head, and there was noticeably more vibrations which affected telephoto long exposure sharpness than my other bigger tripod. That's the nature of light weight tripods. For wide-mid zoom long exposure, or fast exposure telephoto it works great. 4.5 stars. Sample provided for testing and unbiased review.

PROS - Small, Light weight - 99% metal, carbon fiber, and rubber. - Many Functions

CONS - Black paint will eventually chip on high stress areas. - Plastic screw on the piece that attaches the weight hook to the center column, but atleast it's got 3/8" thick thread.
